The TES System
Pursuing Advancements in Research and Education
The Tokai University Educational System (TES) has three universities: Tokai University, Kyushu Tokai University and Hokkaido Tokai University; three junior colleges in Japan and an American junior college in Hawaii. A comprehensive educational system, academic majors offered at Tokai campuses range from the humanities, to science and technology, medicine, marine sciences, and agriculture. In addition, TES supports continual improvement of pedagogy and curriculum through innovative means. Tokai is active in university, industry, and government collaborations in research, with the research result used to benefit society.  Researchers at Tokai constantly challenge themselves, conducting useful research activities that are shared with colleagues globally.  All research is grounded in Tokai’s founding mission, as expressed in the compulsory “Modern Civilization Course,” that a comprehensive background in the humanities and sciences provides scientists with a humanitarian and rich outlook on life and the world. To further promote this mission, all students are able to study a minor field outside of their field. Although each campus is independent, the organizational structure of TES unites the various campuses so research and educational opportunities are maximized.
