Head Office of International Affairs (HIAT)
To support the Tokai University Educational System's international activities, the Head Office of International Affairs was established to develop and coordinate an integrated international relations strategy for Tokai. In 2005 it was selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for "Strategic Fund for Establishing International Headquarters of Universities." In accordance with the philosophy of Tokai founder Dr. Shigeyoshi Matsumae, the Head Office of International Affairs has actively carried out international exchange activities in the sciences, culture, and sports to contribute to the attainment of peace through education, including research opportunities in science and technology. With the support of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Tokai has contributed to the training of engineers in Thailand though academic support activities with the King Mongkut Institute of Technology, Ladkrabang, In addition, to promote international exchanges of researchers and students, Tokai maintains official academic exchange agreements with 68 institutions in 26 countries and sponsors international conferences and symposiums on topics such as international peace and the global environment.
