Since Tokai University was founded in 1942, it has continued to provide a comprehensive education based upon the founding philosophy of educating its students as individuals who are better fit to serve leading roles in an international society. Tokai University Educational System presently consists of three universities (Tokai University, Kyushu Tokai University, Hokkaido Tokai University), four junior colleges, and various secondary and primary schools as well as research institutes and facilities throughout Japan and abroad. With this vast network of institutions for research and education, Tokai University Educational System is considered the largest educational system among private universities in Japan.
Furthermore, as a pioneer in international exchange programs, Tokai University is one of the first universities to develop programs for international students. Tokai University Educational System has continued to provide opportunities for international students through the Japanese Language Course and undergraduate and graduate courses of study.
